Several independent studies indicate that 64% to 80% of Twitter accounts are bots. On Facebook, over 50% of content is generated by AI or bots. That’s over HALF of social media comment and interactions being produced by non-humans. What does this mean?
The vast majority of traffic pushed and highlighted by the algorithm on META and Twitter is generated by AI, bot farms, or paid accounts (this is easy to confirm with your favorite search engine).
Simply put–> Don’t waste your time arguing online. It’s either bot with instructions or a very very VERY dumb human with enough free time to ruin your mental state.
On the other hand, your family member, friend or coworker spreading misinformation, nonsense, racist and incel stuff… That’s real. There’s no respite there, and you have to deal with that situation or cut ties in order to improve your day to day. Yes, they are a lot of them, and they are extremely loud and obnoxious, but believe me, decent human beings outnumber them.
Your feed has been taken over by pages and groups that post the same coordinated message every day. Fake users and/or bot farms that literally repeat the same copy-paste in the comments section (sometimes even with the same grammatical and spelling errors).
This is a proven social media strategy with checks and contracts being issued to influencers and private content generation farms. Again, confirm with your favorite search engine. It’s all in black and white (and legal, for f*cks sake).
Even if you don’t follow or interact with XY type of content, you’ll still see it when you scroll, especially on days with big events. Controversy, misinformation, and distraction not only sell, but they also keep you using the app. Remember you are a living breathing human being reading this, but to them (social media administrators), you are a number with logged hours, counted interactions and custom manipulated algorithm.
Adding:
- Everything digital is monitored, controlled, and stored. Limit your personal information, like family members, business contacts, overall frequent locations (this is obvious from day one).
- The correct and safest way to live is to delete the app, every app (practically imposible, right? Because we want to communicate, express our thoughts, likes and opinions). So, shoot for a realistic results: At the very least, you should limit your time to specific hours of the day or find what you’re looking for and leave. Use the social media platforms to your benefit, not the other way around.
- And lastly, but most importantly, IF you spend all day inside social media, your brain will rot and your nervous system will be stressed and overstimulated. This is science, there are studies confirming this around the world. Let’s not even get started on the declining rates of literacy and language proficiency.
